My reputation speaks for itself. I work hard at providing relevant, useful and real world knowledge to my audience. In just 5 years, SOS has gone from 5 schools in WA to now presenting to over 400 schools and organisations across Australia. That growth is mainly driven by my message and how I give it. Word of mouth has spread like wildfire, usually with statements from audience members saying to other people, 'You have got to see this guy!'
I do not bully people into changing behaviours, but instead offer useable options to help them make better decisions online. So very often, the pride I have for my work comes in the feedback from those who have seen me present. It is such comments and support that is continuing to motivate me to continue to drive change here in Australia. I share some of those with you here.
Paul Litherland - Owner SOS
That was brilliant Paul. The passion in your subject is clearly immeasurable and it is inspiring how well you speak about your work and the changes you are trying to make. I wish I could help more. We were all talking afterwards about how we could have kept asking questions all night! The stories of your own kids were absolutely hilarious. God bless.

Hello Miss, I was just emailing to tell you that I really enjoyed the guest speaker, Paul Litherland’s presentation. It was very effective and I like how (unlike others) he didn’t focus on abstinence, but more on the consequences, facts and examples of consequences should we choose to do it. I was engaged in the whole talk and I really believe that he made an impact on the way some of us use social media. The thing that really blew my mind was when he made a fake social media account and then asked how many people had followed it. Thank you.

I would just like to say thanks for your efforts at Kinross Primary last night. I can only speak on behalf of my wife and I (although I'm positive alot of the other parents would agree), when I say that your presentation was one of the most informative, harrowing and not to mention entertaining presentations I have sat through! I say harrowing from the fact that you shed light on what I've heard alot about but had not wanted to acknowledge, as in my naivety I believe my kids are still to young to start worrying about this just yet. I now understand the point of your presentation, being that communication is the key, has made me realise that it's never too early to open up dialect with my kids.

Paul. Thank you for coming to Mazenod and talking with the year 11's. I felt like telling you this was the best presentation we have ever had at school. We were talking about how right you were on so many points and how we need to change things up more often. I actually spoke with my little brother as well as he is in Year 7. Most of his stuff was not even on private, so it was good to show him what you spoke to us about. Thanks Paul.

Hello Mr Litherland, I wanted to say again how much I liked your talk today at my school. You have really inspired me and I wish I could do what you do. I spoke with my friends after the talk and we all talked about how passionate you seemed to be about your work. You taught me so much and made me want to make changes to what I do online straight away. Even my friends started changing the settings to their phones. We always have other people come to the school and talk about cyber safety, but there is no way any other talk will be as good as yours. Thank you for what you are doing.

Paul Litherlands presentations are always interesting and innovative. He engages the audience and makes it easier to listen and understand what he is directly telling us. He communicates well with our age group and makes his speech funny and interactive, that helps us to really focus on the serious and important facts, while it is still being light and humorous.

I went to one of Pauls talks again this year, which is my third year in a row and each time he offers more information. Stuff that I can actually use. For me, what sticks out is his passion and how hard he is actually working for the kids at our school. His honesty is confronting at times, but how he delivers it is remarkable. It is actually very motivating. Each year he talks at Leeming, my kids talk about it at home and that gives me a chance to talk with them. Thanks for such a great speaker. One of the best I have ever seen.

Good morning, I just wanted to say thank you very much for running this event. Both my boys found it useful and my older son came home and immediately started vetting and deleting things from his iPod which is great. I attended the evening session and Paul was super - walking a fine line between horrifying us parents and reassuring us at the same time is no mean feat! He was down to earth, clear and concise and full of really good information. I had some really good discussions with both boys when I got home and will hopefully continue to keep them making sensible choices going forward.

Paul, I would like to thank you on behalf of the students, staff and parents at our school who attended a recent Surf Online Safe workshop that you delivered. Your student presentations were informative, engaging, fun and packed with pertinent information for our students to keep safe during online interactions with others. Our parents highlighted the amount of information that you packed into the session, all of which was of great value. You highlighted the complexities of working within an industry that has little constraints and no accountability but still managed to give us vital information to work within those parameters. What an eye opener for us all. I thank you once again for sharing your time and knowledge and we will endeavour to make your workshops an annual event at the school. Good luck in your endeavours Paul, the cyber world feels a little safer with you fighting for the cause. Kind regards

Paul recently spoke at my daughters school. The evening after his talk, she told us about a person who she had been speaking with on Kik and Instagram. This person was a young boy who had been asking some of the questions Paul spoke about in his presentation. I rang Paul the next day and told him what my daughter had said and it was great how much he wanted to help and he put me onto the right people to speak to. The police said the person was a predator and he was grooming my daughter. He has been charged and is being investigated about doing the same with other girls. I am still in shock and this has been a very frightening experience. My daughter is pretty smart, but she was really unaware of what this person was trying to do, but I was completely unaware. I am terrified at what could have happened if Paul had not have come to our school when he did. He gave my daughter the thoughts to be aware about what was happening, but more importantly he gave her the courage to speak to me and her dad. Paul has had such a gigantic impact on me and our family and he may well have saved my daughters life. I cannot thank Paul enough.

Mr Litherland, your presentation was outstanding. In my opinion it was the best presentation about cyber safety I have ever seen. You really captured the audience with interesting points. Demonstrating the ways of online predators was very convincing and the message had been given very clearly. I took away a lot of knowledge from this experience. :)

Paul, thank you so much for the presentations to all our lower school students. The content of your presentations were so relevant to the students and your delivery of that content had everyone so engaged! I loved your sense of humour and loved watching each students face as they finally got the main messages being conveyed. These were the best presentations I have seen in my 20 years of teaching.

Paul - I just want to thank you once again for your wonderful presentations to our students and parents this year. The effect on our students has been enormous, and the feedback from them has been extremely positive. I do not believe it is a coincidence that since you began speaking to our students over the last few years, the number of internet/cyber safety related incidents we have experienced has significantly decreased. It has also been great to see so many parents beginning to come to your parent presentations. It has now become one of the “must attended” events on our calendar for parents. We look forward to having you speak to our College community for many years to come.

My 2 kids came home from school yesterday and they were chattering away all afternoon. That evening at dinner, was the first time I have ever seen them actually wanting to discuss what happened at school. More importantly, they were genuinely excited to tell us about your presentation that day. I was intrigued, so decided to go to your evening presentation. I was so glad I did and I could see why the kids were such a buzz. I have never learned so much in such a short time. You gave us a laugh and really gave me some great insight into the internet and how it works. Thank you so much, please come back again. ALL kids have to see one of your presentations and in my opinion, for parents it should be compulsory.

Hi, You recently came to Corpus Christi. I just wanted to say how much that opened my eyes to the dangers of the internet and I am so grateful that you came to talk to us. We always get speeches on sexting and things like that and that we shouldn't do it but we have never been fully explained why and what could happen. I thank you so much for explaining what you did and now I know to be much more cautious online and with what I post. I think you should make sure you also speak to younger high school years because the issues you discussed also come up in year 8 and 7. I hope you continue doing what you are doing. You have really helped me, we have never been told any of that and I think that teachers should focus more on things like what you spoke about than Cyber Bullying every year, Don't get me wrong Cyber Bullying is extremely important to learn about but what you spoke about we never were told and we should hear that more often because I think it would reduce the problems e.g. I walked out and my friend said "I'm not even sure about posting my bikini pictures anymore". So i just really want to thank you for that and I hope you continue to keep doing what you are doing, I just had to tell you how much you impacted on me (in a good way) and how much more i know about the internet! Thanks so much!! I hope you and your family enjoy your weekend. Thanks again.

Surf Online Safe presenter, Paul Litherland spoke to three of our year groups during assemblies and our parents at a Parent Information Evening. The information which he provided to both audiences was captivating, insightful and age appropriate. Paul used very interesting and real examples that shocked our students and definitely challenged the way in which they view social media and other online activities. We will be inviting Surf Online Safe to present to our year groups again.

I just wanted to give you some feedback on the Guest Speaker the girls had yesterday. As most parents do, for many years I have spoken to my daughter about posting photos, being safe on-line, etc. and have received the "yeah, yeah" response. Yesterday was the first time I have heard her come home raving about how great a speaker was at school. She was telling us how she was going to delete many of the "friends" she has on Facebook she doesn't really know and how she was going to make sure the location function on her phone was always off. She has a younger brother who doesn't have any social media yet, but like most boys does play games on the computer that have "chat". Because she was so enthusiastic about the topic he was listening and it was a great way to again broach the subject of cyber safety with him. I hope this speaker has had as big an effect on many of the girls as it did on my daughter. Cyber stalking is a constant worry of parents now days. Thanks for arranging a great speaker.

Paul, Thanks and congratulations on the presentations to our students and parents yesterday. Students are going out of their way to tell me how good it was. Yesterday they were not given merely a list of do’s and don’ts, they were shown what they were actually doing online and the very real damage that could occur. The rest was left to them, which meant it was the students walking away knowing what to do and wanting to change things immediately. Finally, we have had great feedback from parents who attended the evening session, both on the information they received and the impact it has had on their children. I am really looking forward to working with you again in the future.
